Notes from my Bible

If you are easily offended, buh-bye. Still here? this is my place to air my viewpoints on things I know nothing about. What you find within was at some point in my Bible on a scrap of paper. Now it's on a weblog. Some things you may find relevant, others, not so much. Whatever you do, don't take anything too personally... (I wasn't writing about YOU:)

Romance/Spirituality ??

I recently ran across another note in my Bible, and it caused me to pause and think. I wrote down "You can't be Tired and Spiritual at the same time (for very long)
"You can't be Tired and Romantic at the same time (for very long)
"When you're tired, the first thing to go is intimacy"
As I contemplated these three sentences and tried to remember who said it and when (a totally fruitless search) I gave up on remembering and went straight to contemplation. I think that there is something there. Christ wants to romance us, our spirituality is our way of responding to his romance, of building intimacy with him. When the Devil is able to wear us out with "things" to do, we become less able to romance our beloved, or even respond to his Love for us. I think the other side to this principle was written right under these notes.
"revival has an ebb and flow, up and down, hot and cold. trying to sustain the high of revival will drain you"
We need to remember that in any relationship there is give and take, and ups and downs. God wants our relationship (romance) with Him to be based on more than an emotional high. If all we know of God is based on "High" we are missing out on His blessings during the "low" times. Sometimes the "lows" are the times that we remember the most vividly and are most thankful for later.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if God seems distant, you don't have to pull his leash to make him heel and follow you closely at all times, just be ready for him to be involved in your life from a distance.

Confusing?
yeah, me too.
Till next time,
